¡Puerto Rico SABE A BEISBOL!
The Department Commander for the American Legion in Puerto Rico Carmen Rosario has as one of her goals to bring back Legion Baseball to the island. After a 13-year break of this program in the island we have reached a MOU (memorandum of understanding) with the Municipality of Caguas after a visit with Hector Falero which as well opened up an opportunity to as well do a MOU with Mr. Arturo Ondina, Vice President of Operations of "Los Criollos de Caguas".
This Friday, 31st of May at 1:00 p.m. we will have our 1st Press Conference at the Ydelfonso Sola Morales in the Municipality of Caguas.
Our tournament will commence this next Sunday, 2 June of 2024 at 10 am with four teams sponsored by some of our finest Legion Post. Entrance is free of Charge, so we advise to enjoy with us in Family.
The Island has been in five World Series of Legion Baseball (1973, 1974, 1984, 1989 & 1990) and obtaining three World Series Championships in 1973, 1974 & 1984.
There has been an astonishing amount of 87 MLB Baseball Players that had started in many leagues including Legion Baseball through the years that has given us many Hall of Famers such as our Roberto Alomar & Ivan Rodriguez.
The Champions of this Series in the Island will Represent the Department of Puerto Rico in the East Division in Shelby, North Carolina & World Series in August.
